Statement of faith
While we consider the whole Word of God, the Bible, as our statement of faith, here are a few fundamental truths that we want to specifically point out:
- There is One God, invisible and sovereign, eternally existing in three co-equal Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; John 10:30; Matthew 28:19; Ephesians 4:4-6)
- The Bible is the inspired and only infallible, authoritative Word of God. (2. Timothy 3:16-17; 1. Thessalonians 2:13) God created the heavens and the earth, and He created people, male and female, in His image. (Genesis 1:1-27)
- Jesus Christ is God the eternal Son, Who became also man, begotten by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary. (Luke 1:26-38; 1. Timothy 2:5; Colossians 2:9)
- Jesus Christ lived a sinless life, taught and ministered during His years on earth, fully and always pleasing His God and Father. (1.Peter 2:21-22; 1. Corinthians 11:1; Matthew 3:17; John 8:29b)
- All people (apart from Jesus Christ) have sinned and fallen short of God's standard, and the wages of sin is death. (Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23)
- Jesus Christ died for our sins when crucified on Calvary. (1. Corinthians 15:3; Mark 10:45; Isaiah 53:8)
- Jesus Christ is raised from among the dead; He is ascended into Heaven; He is now seated at the right hand of God, and is Lord of all. (1. Corinthians 15:4; Ephesians 1:20; Hebrews 1:3)
- We are saved through faith in Christ Jesus, unto eternal life, apart from works or religious observances. There is no way unto salvation except through faith in Christ Jesus. (John 3:16, Acts 4: 10-12, Romans 3:21-28; Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-9)
- The Holy Spirit indwells every born-again Christian and enables him or her to live a godly life. (John 3:5-8; Acts 1:8 and 4:31; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 2:14; Galatians 5:16-18; Ephesians 6:12; Colossians 2:6-10)
- The Church is composed of all who are saved through faith in Christ and were baptized into one Body through the baptism of the Holy Spirit. (I Corinthians 12:4-31; Acts 2)
- Christians keep the unity of the Spirit by withdrawing from iniquity known to them in their personal lives and in their associations and by pursuing justice, faith, love and peace with those who do the same, i.e. all who call on the name of the Lord out of a pure heart. (2 Tim. 2:22)
