FAQ

1. By prayer

2. By volunteering to cooperate in a short-term front line project.

3. By supporting a project through a gift / regular gifts
Yes. Given that the most important aim of Frontline Hearts is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with those who need it, it is imperative for individuals to have a personal relationship with the Lord. The convictions and values of Frontline Hearts can be found on our "Who We Are" page.
Registration as a potential volunteer describes your desire to learn more about Frontline Hearts and most probably to participate in a project.

Once subscribed, several elements will need to be confirmed.

Firstly, you will have to fill out a short questionnaire and provide basically two documents so that we can best suggest to you suitable projects.

Secondly, we will offer you the participation of a Missions Preparation Boot Camp.

Thirdly, once a field deployment is being planned, a concrete discussion will take place to assess the possibility of both sides for this project.
In most cases, this is not necessary. For some projects, specific skills are required, these are described in the corresponding project page.
Adults:
o Persons aged 18 and above are responsible for themselves and free to commit (depending on the country of origin the age might be up to 21. We follow country rules in this question.)

Teens and Children:
o If a legal representative is involved in the project, the children of the legal representative can participate under his/her responsibility. We encourage family commitments and everyone will be able to find their place in the project
o If no legal representative is involved, young people from 16 to 18 years old can participate as long as they are under the responsibility of an adult in the same project
We recommend that you take the following items with you:
o Bible
o (Air mattress / mat and) sleeping bag (warm or silk dependent on mission)
o Toiletries
o Mobile phone
o Clothing suitable for the work, the climate and the customs of the country. If necessary, our team is available for information.
o In addition to this, there may be other special items depending on the project. In this case, it is described in the project itself
o Travel costs and personal equipment
o Costs related to insurance, health (vaccines)
o (at times) lodging and/or food (to be confirmed for each project)
Yes, it is necessary to have at least a health insurance and a repatriation insurance. Depending on your country of residence, we can provide you with more detailed information. Proof of these insurances will be requested before a deployment.
o (at times) Lodging and food (to be confirmed for each project)
o Equipment needed to complete the task
Frontline Hearts has its own set of guiding principles and values that it adheres to in its relief work, including a commitment to providing assistance to people in need regardless of race, gender, or religion. While the organization has not and will not sign the Code of Conduct, it adheres to many of the same principles and standards outlined in the Code.
Yes, absolutely. The Lord moved on earth with twelve (+) disciples and sent them out by twos. In the book of Acts we see Paul and others generally moving for ministry as a group. Individuals moving alone are rather the exception. However, each person needs to have a personal conviction that the Lord is leading him or her to cooperate in a task. And on the front lines the actual sharing of the Gospel is in practice done more on an individual basis.
In order to be submitted to the authorities (Rom. 13) we usually need an NGO (non-governmental organization) in our relationship with the governments of the regions which are in a crisis and where we bring help.

Secondly, for tax purposes a vehicle is needed in the relationship with our own government.

However, while the organization has its importance with regard to the humanitarian work, it must fade out in the measure that the spiritual work becomes present. To be totally clear, the organization as such cannot take any influence with regard to the spiritual work (preaching of the Gospel, etc.).
Absolutely! Without HIM we can do nothing. But keep in mind that we are NOT encouraging anyone to become long-term missionaries. Frontline Hearts presents short-term projects to Christians who are already interested by the Lord in missionary work. We trust that all of us always look to the Lord for each step in our lives (e.g. even for a 2 weeks holiday, etc.).

When believers subscribe as “potential volunteers”, it is like subscribing to a Newsletter. When they are shown concrete project opportunities they need to look again and specifically to our Lord for this project (like for any other e.g. 2 week project). Then, after the Lord has confirmed it to them should they only register for participation in a concrete project

A call to long-term missionary work is something entirely different and Frontline Hearts has no intentions to push anyone into this work. We know that unless the Lord really calls someone, he/she will not be able to fulfill his/her mission.
Absolutely. The whole humanitarian field of this world is pushing for keeping faith out of humanitarian support. Substantial humanitarian aid comes from the governments and huge companies, but they explicitly demand that the NGOs be non-religious to be considered for allocation. That is why we totally depend on the support of our fellow believers.

We believe that we have a responsibility to care for “the whole man“, that includes spirit, soul and body - and in this moral (not necessarily chronological) order. Suffering in this world is often the result of sin. God allows it for the spiritual good of the sufferer, as he/she will often turn to Him in the midst of suffering. If we reach people in distress and alleviate their suffering without telling them the good news of God for them, we actually hurt them spiritually while helping them physically. NGOs which do not share the Gospel while helping people materially have a huge responsibility before God as they actually interfere into the process towards true repentance.
