Flashlights Project in the Amerindian Village of Orealla
Frontline Hearts is proposing a project to distribute quality flashlights to every household in the AmerIndian village of Orealla, Guyana. This project aims to provide a reliable source of light during frequent power cuts and to aid the different types of work carried out by the villagers outside. This project will be beneficial to the people in several ways:
- Improving safety and security: The distribution of flashlights will improve safety and security for the villagers during power cuts, as they will have access to a reliable source of light to navigate their way through the village and surrounding areas.
- Enhancing productivity: The flashlights will also enhance productivity, especially for those who work outside, such as farmers and fishermen. These individuals can use the flashlights to carry out their tasks effectively, even during the dark hours of the day.
- Reducing costs: The villagers will save money on batteries. Flashlights are rechargeable and will provide a long-term solution to the problem of power cuts.
Frontline Hearts plans to proceed with the distribution in the following way:
- Announcement of the date of distribution: Flyers will be distributed throughout the village about a week before the scheduled date of distribution. This will allow the villagers to prepare for the event and make arrangements to attend.
- Reminder on the day of distribution: Some locals will remind the villagers about the distribution on the day of the event to ensure that as many people as possible attend.
- Gospel message: At the convened date and hour, a Gospel message will be presented before the distribution of flashlights. Lessons will be drawn between the light of the flashlight and Jesus as the Light of the World. The flashlights will have a sticker with a relevant Bible verse on them.
- Handing out the flashlights: Flashlights will be handed out for free to every household in the village.
- Fishing seminar: At the moment of the distribution, Frontline Hearts International will also announce another indigenous self-help project: a fishing seminar by an expert on how to fish more efficiently. Those who want to participate in this seminar will have to subscribe with us.
In conclusion, Frontline Hearts trusts that the distribution of flashlights will allow them to reach many people in a short time and leave a lasting reminder of the precious message of the Gospel, which is given at this occasion. The project will not only provide a reliable source of light but will also contribute to the safety, productivity, and cost reduction of the villagers.
